Back when Sony Ericsson 1st proclaimed Aspen Phone, Windows Mobile 6.5.3, in Feb last year, we wondered whether QWERTY-furnished phone would have enough space to make its mark prior to MS unleashed Windows Phone 7 through the end of year. Just 5 months later & even closer to the latest platform’s introduction the window of chance for the Sony Ericsson Aspen is even smaller.
Happily if the rear half of the Sony Ericsson Aspen was less than exciting, the front prepared up for it. Although the 2.4' screen is resistive touchscreen - full with a pull-out styles we found ourselves often than not using hardware keys to steer it. D-pad is strong and properly balanced, as are main switches surrounding it, while QWERTY keypad is quiet and tangible. Not as per the BlackBerry levels, however better than slideout keypads we have seen on other latest smartphones. The squared-off layout uses small getting used to, if somebody has been using a 'board with the mild curve to phone, however curved rear of the Sony Ericsson Aspen makes it cozy to fit in the hand as one type messages with thumbs.
